

What is Toronto Folk Festival The Toronto Folk Festival is a grassroots, artist led, community registered not-for-profit festival. The 2026 festival will take place August 21st, 22nd & 23rd on Ward's Island at the WIA Pavilion located at 20 Withrow St.
Where does Toronto Folk Festival take place? The Toronto Folk Festival takes place on Ward's Island of the Toronto Island, at both the WIA Pavilion located at 20 Withrow St. and The Outpost, located at 101 Cibola Ave. When you arrive at the Wards Island ferry dock/water taxi area, follow signs for Toronto Folk Festival. We will be just behind the Island Café, on the way to the beach.
How do I get to the Toronto Island? You can take a ferry from the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal at 9 Queens Quay West, which costs $9.57 round trip for adults, and is free for seniors and kids. We also have a partnership with Pirate Taxi for $13 fares each way, leaving from 235 or 375 Queens Quay West to Wards Island. You can always take a water taxi there and take the ferry back for free.
What happens if it rains? Toronto Folk Festival is rain or shine! Our Pavilion Stage is covered and other areas are tented. If there is a major storm we will communicate to attendees through on-site, social media, and our ticketing platform.
Is there food & beverage on-site? We will have food and beverages (alc and non-alc) available at both the Pavilion and Outpost areas. Otherwise both Island Café and Riviera will be open for food & beverage as well.
Can I bring my pets? Only service dogs will be allowed in the ticketed area.
What is the timing of the event? Friday 3:30PM - Doors 4:00PM to 9:00PM - Music Saturday 10:30AM - Doors 11AM to 9PM - Music Sunday 10:30AM - Doors 11AM to 940PM - Music
How does ticketing work? Am I allowed to leave and come back? Our Pavilion area will be ticketed, and the Outpost area will be open to the public. You are able to freely move between the two spaces and also go enjoy the beach, the disc golf course, and more!!
